The Worlds Premier Online Dressage Competition

Beating the Crunch

With the credit crunch constantly in the media spot light riders throughout Europe are being forced to tighten their purse strings.  Often one of the first cut backs to be made is competing – but this need not be the case.

Interdressage.com brings you the pleasure of competing from home.  Saving both money and time, www.interdressage.com  brings you a modern day alternative to beating the crunch.

Interdressage.com is a web based competition site enabling riders of all standards to compete against each other at dressage, cutting out the cost of travelling to shows and offering the cheaper and more convenient alternative of competing from home!  What’s more there is also prize money up for grabs – so you might even make your self a profit – without even starting up the lorry!  Competing via video is a craze sweeping not only the UK but also Europe and beyond.

Launched in May 2007, Interdressage.com is the work of Yorkshire based freelance instructor Karina Hawkridge and British Dressage listed judge Glynis Mills.  Together they judge a variety of tests each month.  Each test is scored in the traditional way but with the added bonus of a ‘tutorial’ at the end of each score sheet offering advice and help where needed.  Competitors have their score sheet emailed back to them and there are rosettes, prize money and achievement certificates for every class.

Classes are chosen and entries are paid for by logging onto the site; once the test of choice has been videoed it is submitted for judging either on disc by post or via upload to You Tube.  All videos for the month can be viewed online where scores can be watched via the leader board.

This is certainly a cost effective and time efficient way to compete with a truly International feel.  Entries are accepted from anywhere in the world, so you may find yourself competing against someone from down the road or the other side of the globe. Not many riders can say that they have competed internationally - without leaving home!

If you think that this idea is aimed just at novice or nervous riders or people who have no transport- think again.  Take a look at www.interdressage.com and see for yourself the variety of classes on offer and the varying standard of riders catered for.
