WHINTOR DARTMOOR STUD Part 3
Jeanne and Paul continue with their story. After a successful spring the ponies are thriving.....
We are now approaching the end of our third breeding season in Brittany, and have been delighted with the continuing interest we have had from French Dartmoor enthusiasts. It is interesting that we have never had serious sales inquiries from English people living in France; we have only sold ponies to the French.

This year we have had four lovely foals – three fillies and one colt. The first filly born was sold within a week! We are retaining the other two fillies for our own stock, and we will run the colt on to see how he turns out. He may have stallion potential - we shall have to wait and see.

We were absolutely delighted when our two year old filly Touyllon Whintor carried all before her at Hennebont, winning the overall all-breeds championship for two year olds male & female. We have been invited to show her at the Regional Finals in Rennes this month.
There is a possibility that the Association Française du Poneys Dartmoor is seeking affiliation with the Dartmoor Pony Society, to beome a daughter society. This is excellent news for Dartmoors in France and can only help to improve the overall standard of the French ponies.
This year has gone so quickly; after a summer of sunshine and rain, the grass continues to grow. The ponies are fat and in excellent condition to go into another Brittany winter.
Already we are anticipating our next year’s foals – it is always so exciting to see what appears!
Jeanne & Paul Windle-Taylor

Keep logging on and we will catch up with Jeanne and Paul throughout the coming year. It will be wonderful to follow the progress of the 2009 foals and to watch the progress of this remarkable couple and their Dartmoor Ponies.
