BE_BR_Ramiro.jpg

Marina Radius has been exhibiting bronze sculptures at Galerie 4 Saisons, St Aulaye (24) for some nine months, during which time clients have come from as far as Paris and Bordeaux to view her work which is of an extremely fine quality.

In particular the interest in her equestrian studies have attracted collectors including a local stud.  In fact this particular client was so impressed he offered to have Marina visit his stables to capture some of his horses and ponies.

Suzie Blackman of Galerie 4 Saisons said, "It is obvious from the sculptures that Marina has an in-depth knowledge of the anatomical structure of the horse in general and also the qualities of different breeds. We feel very lucky to count Marina as one of our resident exhibitors and are always excited when new work becomes available."

Marina in her own words, describes her work -

" Work by Marina Radius consists mostly of oil paintings. Her style is expressive and her work is often classified as Magic Realism.
Her oil paintings as well as her sculptures are very labor intensive, because of the detailed refinement Marina Radius incorporates into her work. Themes in her work include people, animals, landscapes, and still life.
Besides her uncommissioned work, she accepts commissions from clients, especially for portraits of people and animals. Her paintings of animals involve mostly horses and dogs.
Since 1975, her work has been shown regulary in exhibitions in the Netherlands as well as abroad."

Here is a sample of Marina's work

Bronze: the Corgi and the sitting dog(mixed breed) were commissioned by their owners, as well as  the poodles on my website.

The Frisian horse was one of about 15 Frisians, but the owner wanted me to make a bronze portrait of this special one- like the poodles, I really need to look very good at the individual animal, for they are all unique of course and the owner has to recognize this specific animal.

Most of the oil paintings are portraits as well.
mearl als Nelson.jpgThe cat in the costume was a British shorthair, called Earl Grey-he was quite a character, and fond of water- thus the owner wanted him to be painted as Lord Nelson. It suits him rather well, don't you think?

The painting of the running Arab horses was commissioned by an agency, and turned out to be meant for one of the palaces of the Sultan of Oman- so it was vital in this case the landscape was Omani too.

Marina's latest dog portrait 'Snuif'

Marina informed us that it "Snuif is a Nova Scotia duck tolling retriever. The painting is about 25 cm in diameter.
I enjoyed doing it because I know the dog in person and like him very much! His owner was very pleased, so I'm happy too....."
