April 23rd  Sharing The Colt with you

Well, the first week of 'The Colts' life (Still searching for the elusive name begining with 'A'!)  has passed successfully and brought so much pleasure. Tonight in the paddock when the heat of the day was at last subsiding, he decided to continue with his training for the Epsom Derby. Then, as if that was not enough, he treated us to some Piaffe and Passage as we led him into his stable.  Only as a foal can do, pure natural lightness. It will never cease to amaze me how truly agile and efforlessly a foal moves.

Here's a picture or two.

April 16th   "He has arrived!"         Etoile NS 5hrs old.JPG

What a week it has been! A wonderful week indeed.

After the seemingly endless wait for the birth of the foal, we were fortunate to take delivery of a very healthy strong Colt. Both Dam and foal are very well and as I write I can see them in the paddock. She cropping the grass and he is flat out, sleeping in the very warm afternoon sunshine. It has been such a pleasure to be part of this special experience. We are just trying to decide on names. He has to begin with the letter 'A' for this year in France. We will have to submit three options to the Haras Nationaux and they will approve one of them. We also have to await a visit from the HN to microchip and record ID. Its reassuring that they are so organised with the administration of breeding horses in France.

The other exciting news is firstly the OnLine Shop is 'work in progress.' We are sourcing products at the moment. Clothing and Equipment for the Horse and Rider plus great fashions and wear for the countryside. Add to that Pet clothing and accessories, all delivered to your door. What more could you want?

Secondly, our passess and tickets arrived for Badminton which we are really looking forward to. Some of the French competitiors have sadly had to withdraw but it will be wonderful to catch up with old friends and interview whoever wins.

And then onto even more good news when our invites arrived to attend Kentucky for the 2010 World Equestrian Games. So there will be lots of planning for the FHC.com Team. We shall keep you posted on all the preparations.

As I said...what a busy and fun filled week.

Salut

April 1st

How many of you were fooled? Who fell for the 'Animal Translator'?

Have a look here if you did not see it  Animal Translator  Hilarious! I wonder though how long it will be before they do actually invent such a thing. Will be interesting to hear 'from the horses mouth so to speak'. There may be many suprises in store!

And so to the 'Fashion Shoot' With the new On Line Shop coming soon, the photo shoots are taking place. Making the most of the sun - while it is there!- some of the models and garments are being photographed. Equestrian supplies, Country Clothing, Horse Rugs, Animal Accessories, direct to your door. We will keep you updated on progress. Personal embroidered products too. Why not have a FH&C Team polo or Team Stable Thermatex horse rug. Quality and craftmanship combined. Its not easy shopping in France, we source and deliver. Easy!

Till next time, oh and still no Foal...... As the name has to begin with 'A' this year in France we may call the foal 'Abscent without leave' - AWOL -if this continues!

Watch for the photos in the photo gallery when the happy night arrives..........
