Hunter Class

Hunter Competitions in France are similar to the Working Hunter Classes but in a cross country type of course rather than in an arena.

The Hunter has to follow up an obstacle course with the greatest possible harmony. Hunter Riding competitions are designed to judge the position, the riding level and employment of the aids.  Hunter Style competitions are designed to assess the model, movement and style to the impediment of pony / horse.

FFE Hunter

The Hunter was originally designed  for hunt riders so that they could continue to hunt out of hunting periods. This origin explains the search for elegance in grooming horses and keeping the horse, and the type of obstacles (mountains terrain or local natural terrain obstacles). In show jumping elements the poles and their components are mobile and they will fall if hit. Therefore, it is for the rider and horse to complete the course as the most elegant and as fine as possible with a faultless round.
