Renew your Licence for 2012

The Licence system in France for equestrianism works extremely well. Previously the licence ran from January 1st of each new year until the end of that year. Now for 2012 the end of the 2011 year was August 31st and new applications or renewals are made from  September 1st . You can do this via the Internet, page FFE Club FIS or by returning the renewal form for membership which is p.21 number 128 of the REF. Click here to view.

There is much anger at the decision to increase the tax rate of VAT  to 19.6% instead of the existing 5.5% on the sale of horses and all equestrian activities on the grounds that such equestrian industry does not come under the umbrella of consumation of horse meat.  Such is the threat posed by the European Commission to France.

Les chevaux d’Abyssinie exhibition

On the occasion of European Heritage Days, the National Stud and the Ecole Nationale d’Equitation hosts an exhibition of photographs by Alain Laurioux entitled  “Les chevaux d’Abyssinie” or “Horses of Abyssinia.” The exhibition will be presented to the public from September 17 to October 2nd. There will be over a dozen viewings of the photographs which starts at the Haras national de Compiègne on 17th September.
