For those English speaking readers with limited French pronunciation then re read the title again! This is not a ‘prescription eye test’ the word is pronounced ‘spektak’ and is the name given to an event in the way of dramatic, stimulating or eye catching.
This year the conference is held at Avignon from 18th – 20th January.
Each year the Fédération Français d’Equitation (FFE) hold an open forum meeting, rather like a conference to inform and encourage people to put on events and shows with the aim of bringing new interest into the sport of equestrianism. There is a lot of emphasis on culture and performing arts and artistic interpretation as the conference is to engage horse enthusiasts that are not attracted to competition of a more recognised discipline, say show jumping or dressage.
There is ample resources made available, providing contacts, information, guidance and support for would be event co-ordinators and planners. Not only is there event information but also training programes, spectacles, representatives and the great ‘Pony passion display’.
